Vilnius strives to position itself as a modern, bold, and dynamic city – a place where experiences exceed expectations. Yet growth in awareness faces obstacles. For some audiences, perceptions remain tied to regional war risks or Soviet heritage. At the same time, Vilnius competes not only with Riga and Tallinn but also with capitals such as Bratislava, Warsaw, Krakow, and Helsinki. The absence of globally iconic landmarks further limits recognition as a “must-see” destination.

To address these barriers, Vilnius needed an initiative that would re-engage citizens and elevate international visibility. The Vilnius Pink Soup Fest was created as a playful yet powerful answer: a new tradition blending gastronomy, culture, and creativity into a global story. The festival transformed Lithuania’s beloved cold beetroot soup into a citywide celebration.
